Our workshops take place weekly on Saturdays, with specific times varying between programs.
We do not ask for payment for any of our programs! Our mission and services are centered on providing free instruction and guidance to your student. We only ask students to bring in their own "essentials" such as pencils, pens, notebooks, etc. that you would expect to bring to school. The Bruin Initiative has a limited supply of these resources available weekly.
Unfortunately, the Bruin Initiative is unable to provide transportation and cannot subsidize transportation for our students at this time.

Parents have previously reported to us that it is easiest to drop off and pick up students at any either of the two locations below:
the roundabout at the UCLA Meyer and Renee Luskin Conference Center (425 Westwood Plaza, Los Angeles, CA 90095) This is the easiest place to drop off and pick up your student.
UCLA Parking Structure 7 (Underground Charles E Young Dr N Los Angeles, CA 90095) You can wait here and should not have to pay as long as you do not park or leave your car.
Please keep in contact with your student while dropping off and picking up students. Near the class we typically remind students to communicatie with parents/guardians to arrange pick ups!
Parents play a pivotal role in motivating the student to study for the SAT. Here are a few tips to encourage and compliment your student's study program with us:
Enforce attendance and participation. Make sure your student is arriving to class consistently and on-time. Ask them how they are getting involved in the class, if they are asking questions, or things they've been working on.
Check that students are completing their homework for the workshops. It is important for students to understand that homework is largely pivotal in helping students recall information from class. More importantly, though, it allows students to see where their problem areas are! The syllabus has suggested schedules on how to complete homework and study material from the workshops.
Review diagnostic exams with the student. The Bruin Initiative administers four diagnostic exams to students to gauge their progress. Keep an eye out for score reports when these diangostics occur (as announced in the syllabus) and discuss methods of improvement with your tutor.
Either you or the student should make sure to contact the Bruin Initiative via email our our contact page with an explanation for absence. This helps us further accomodate your student.
