FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Here is some financial aid information that you may find useful.
AP Exam Fee Reduction
Apply before April 20th, 2022
You or your student may be eligible for an AP Exam Fee Reduction. Students who qualify for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), receive public assistance, have family income that falls within the Income Eligibility Guidelines set by the USDA, or fit other criterion are eligible. With this reduction, students can take an AP exam for $53 dollars per exam.
Please check out the College Board's AP Exam Fee Reduction webpage for more information.
FAFSA

Submit between October-June prior to first year
The FAFSA should be completed by all prospective college students, beginning their senior year. This application determines a student's eligibility for numerous types of aid including grants, scholarships, work-study programs, and loans. While the filing window is quite long, it is always suggested that families submit the FAFSA as soon as possible (early October).
Please check out the College Board's Fee Waiver Brochure for more information.
Cal Grant

Submit with FAFSA with GPA Verification Form
The Cal Grant offers at most nearly $13,000 a year for students who have a qualifying GPA and is especially useful for students planning to attend schools in the CalState or UC systems.

The program uses the FAFSA application and requires an additional submission of a GPA Verification form by the beginning of March. Talk to your school counselor for more information.
Scholarships

Look for deadlines throughout senior year and during college career.
Students should be on the lookout for opportunities to apply for private scholarships (such as essay contests). Academic counselors should have information about these opportunities on hand.

Both UCLA tutors and alumni from our SAT Prep and College Application Workshops have used resources such as Scholarships.com, FastWeb, and the College Board to discover scholarship opportunities.
